I’m pleased to once again welcome our guest blogger, Victoria Pepen Beauty, with part two of her skincare tips for expecting women. As my exclusive professional hair and makeup artist, Victoria has helped hundreds of my clients address skincare issues while in the makeup chair at our luxury studio. In part two of this blog she will be sharing more about using face razors, lip care and dark spots. My Amazon cart got a little heavier after reading this great information. If you missed part one of her skincare tips you can catch up here.

Skincare Tips for Expecting Women

We’ve discussed in my last blog post the many benefits of exfoliating. An extra bonus to exfoliating would be taking peach fuzz off your face. It may sound scary, but I promise it’s not and super easy!

Facial Hair Removal Tips

You can either do this by a little facial razor or an electric face razor.

I have found that the electric one helps if you have sensitive skin. I like the twinkle face razors on amazon or the Plum Beauty ones at Target. Not all brands work well, but they are cheap enough to try different ones to see what works best for you! For electric facial razors I like the Finishing Touch Flawless Facial Hair Remover. These are sold everywhere! Target/walamart/amazon/ulta to name a few.

Now onto exfoliating your lips.

Lip Care Tips

I’ve noticed pretty much every single pregnant woman I do makeup for has dry lips. The severity varies from person to person  ranging from just dry and chapped to peeling and cracks.

I always use the Burt’s Bees Honeycomb Lip Scrub when I’m doing skin prep for clients. It exfoliates but also just melts into the skin.

It’s safe to use daily if needed as well.

For an extra step I like to follow with a balm.

I recommend buying several and keeping them in all different places in the house, car, purse, diaper bag etc so your lips will feel hydrated!

I love Smith’s Rosebud Salve (what I keep in my kit), Burt’s bees overnight intensive lip treatment, Aquaphor lip repair balm, and my new favorite that recently healed my lips from cracks Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask.

Tips for Dark Spots

Moving on from exfoliating, I wanted to come back to the Naturium brand and the niacinamide ingredient to look at!

As I mentioned before, melasma can occur during pregnancy due to hormonal changes. It can be tough to eliminate during pregnancy, but products with niacinamide will help a ton! Naturium has a body wash with that ingredient but also for the face. They have a head to toe bundle that includes the body wash, cleanser and serum all with niacinamide in them.

If you don’t struggle with melasma, niacinamide is still a very beneficial ingredient. And I recommend everyone to have a serum with this ingredient. Some benefits include:

Keeping skin firm, minimizes redness, minimizes pore appearance, regulates oil, treats hyperpigmentation, minimizes fine lines and wrinkles, treats acne, brightens skin, and so many more things.

I hope you’ve loved these skincare tips for expecting women and found them helpful. Up next I will be sharing my favorite easy makeup tips during pregnancy and post pregnancy.
