So excited to share the latest in my new Fairy Tale Newborn series. These images are inspired by some of the most beloved fairy tales and nursery rhymes of all time. We all have memories of these iconic stories and they will continue to be told over and over again to our children and grandchildren. Being able to incorporate your newborn into one of these timeless stories is pure magic and something your family can treasure for generations.
This image is inspired by the famous European fairy tale Little Red Riding Hood. She looks awfully peaceful sleeping in this foreboding forest.
Each of these backgrounds is made lovingly by hand. I first hand-dye the fibers I am using to achieve the colors needed. Then the fibers are pulled apart and placed to give dimension and depth to the background. Finally the background is then carefully felted onto a single sheet so it will stay in place. I just adore how each turns into a unique, one of a kind backdrop for my clients. This process takes several days and sometimes weeks. But it is worth it for the completely one of a kind results.
This little sweetie has a mama who absolutely adores the Little Mermaid. I created an underwater scene using the same technique described above. Then I had the tail fin and little fish friend custom made to go along with the mermaid theme.
This adorable twins setup was created to celebrate the traditional English nursery rhyme Jack and Jill. What a great story they will one day be able to tell as they share this with their own children.
And one of my favorite nursery rhymes, Little Miss Muffet. Now that is one cute spider!
Creating these unique fairy tale newborn images for my clients is so fun. What are your favorite fairy tales/nursery rhymes and what can I create for you? For more information on these and the other hand designed backdrops available through Lindsay Walden Photography feel free to contact us.
