As a newborn photographer it seems only natural to also offer maternity sessions. I adore these sessions and the opportunity to capture such a special moment. There is something so lovely about the pregnant form.

Much like every other aspect of my art I love to create an exceptional experience for the expectant mommas that come to my studio. As with all of my sessions I meet with maternity clients for a pre-session consultation to plan the details for their shoot. From dresses to poses, we plan out every aspect. I have countless beautiful location options to choose from.

I offer a number of gorgeous maternity gowns for clients to select from in various sizes and colors.

I also have quite a few sweet little gowns for little girls that coordinate with the maternity gowns for a cute mommy/daughter session.

Another great option for your maternity session may be an in-studio session. So many fun things to choose from. Backlit images create a bright and clean backdrop while the light wraps around the subject beautifully.

Silhouettes are a stunning photography technique ideal for the pregnant form.

The creative options are endless for an in-studio maternity session. This gorgeous shot is a composite of six images. Such a brave momma to allow us to toss flour at her to create one stunning image.

And of course we love including dads in the session as well.

A favorite session is the maternity milk bath. Mom’s relax in a warm bath colored with a mixture of powdered milk and cornstarch to create those lovely milky tones. Milk baths can be quite good for your skin as well. Add in a pop of drama with some colorful flowers and you have the makings of a gorgeous and unique image showing off your beautiful baby bump.

Reserve both a newborn and maternity session and receive a greater value for your creative fee. I recommend expectant mothers schedule their maternity session around the beginning of the third trimester. Schedule your pre-session consult at least a month or two before that.
