Underwater maternity sessions are a unique way to capture the art of your pregnancy experience. The movement of your body, hair and gown create a beautiful, ethereal scene. Each session and each image is different.

Underwater maternity sessions are done year-round in a temperature controlled pool. The pool depth is at a maximum of five feet so it never gets very deep. Client safety is our top priority. I always photograph clients with my assistant present. My assistant’s number one job during the underwater maternity session is to keep an eye on my clients and make sure they are safe and comfortable.

I offer a collection of gorgeous gowns for our clients to choose from. I have over sixty stunning, couture gowns. Gowns with flowing, sheer fabric work beautifully underwater.

I invite all of our clients to meet with me prior to their session for a design consultation. During this consultation you’ll have the opportunity to view the gowns and try on your favorites. I’ll give you recommendations on the best gowns to use for underwater sessions. We will also talk about the types of images I can create for you and go over everything you need to know about your session so you are well prepared.

Typically underwater sessions are done in conjunction with an in-studio session. At your design consultation I can show you examples of the many looks we can create for you during an in-studio maternity session. You’ll select your favorite gowns for the in-studio session as well.

During your underwater maternity session I’ll coach you on how to relax your face, how to pose and move under the water. I often have you wear a light weight belt to help you get under the water easily. I find this helps you feel more comfortable.
