As a newborn photographer in the Dallas, Texas area I have been keeping busy with regular clients. When a new client approached me and informed me she owned an art gallery I knew I had the perfect client to work with for the next two images from the Newborn Masterpiece Collection. I’ve had them planned for months so was beyond excited when this darling baby boy came in for his session.
The first image is inspired by the iconic master of still life paintings, Paul Cezanne. I can remember attempting to imitate his style in elementary school art classes. Our sweet model is posing as the water jug in Cezanne’s famous painting Curtain, Jug and Fruit, 1894.
The next image strays a bit from the rest of the images in the collection. Thus far I’ve chosen the work of classic masters from the impressionist and post-impressionist periods. For the eleventh image in the Newborn Masterpiece Collection I have chosen to highlight the work of a contemporary artist that I admire.
Leonid Afremov is a Russian–Israeli modern impressionistic artist who works mainly with a palette knife and oils. His beautiful paintings are eye-catching and use bright and bold colors. The image that inspired my photograph is titled Autumn Music and can be found here. I reached out to Mr. Afremov before creating my background and received his permission to use his work as inspiration for my Newborn Masterpiece Collection. Thank you for your generosity sir and for creating such beauty. As with all of the images in the collection I have taken some artistic liberty with the images and they are not meant to be an exact rendition of the original.
I have one image left in the Newborn Masterpiece Collection and hope to release that final image before the end of the year. This has been such a fun and exciting journey creating and sharing these lovely images. I plan to follow-up this collection with an equally beautiful and inspiring second collection. Stay tuned for more.
