Beyond thrilled to receive third place in the International Child Photo Competition for our image titled “Hanging Branch.” The Child Photo Competition is an International Photography and Art Organization founded in Europe devoted to celebrating the art of child photography. The competition is judged by an international jury of professionals. It is an honor to be recognized amidst so much incredible talent. This image was created in studio as a composite image. This means multiple images were shot to create one final image. The first image was taken before baby even arrived. I had my lovely assistant and my adorable teenage son help hold the branch to achieve the first image.

The second image was taken during the newborn session. You can see that our sweet subject was perfectly safe on our posing beanbag the entire time. It requires forethought and planning to create a realistic and believable composite image. Safety of our sweet little models is our upmost concern. The results are absolutely perfect!In addition to our third place entry we also received two honorable mentions for these adorable images. “Fall Baby” was a sweet image I created specifically for my annual Fine Art Newborn Photography Workshop. This is an annual teaching workshop for professional photographers looking to take their newborn art to another level. He looks so warm and cozy with those beautiful fall colors.This image, “Bear in a Tree”, is another composite image. Baby was safely photographed in studio on a little bed and then composited into the image with the tree. It just doesn’t get much cuter than this!
