We are so pleased to support the International Rescue Committee a third year in a row to celebrate the annual World Refugee Day celebrations. In our experience working with the refugees in the Dallas/Fort Worth area we found one universal truth. While so many of them have experienced unbelievable hardship, having lost their homes and just about everything they owned, each was grateful to have their family. For them, family photos mean everything.

We need your help to make this year’s event even more amazing! This year we will be celebrating on June 22 from 10-2 in Dallas.

If you are a photographer and would like to volunteer your time at this event we would love to have you. You’ll need an understanding of working with strobes or OCF. We also need volunteers to help with crowd control, printing the photos, trimming and framing them. If you are interested in volunteering please email us at lindsay@lindsaywaldenphotography.com.

In addition we rely on the generous support of the community each year to make this event happen. We need printer paper, frames and ink for our printers in order to provide for these deserving families. You are welcome to drop off any of these items at the studio. And to make it easy, this year we have set up an Amazon wish list that you can order from and it will ship directly to the studio. You can find the list here. We can’t thank you enough for your support!

Last year we photographed more than 400 refugee families! We had a remarkable team of local photographers who donated their time and equipment to serve these families.

Behind the scenes our volunteers lovingly trimmed each photo and placed it into a frame for the family so they could take it home and hang it on the walls of their new home, reminding them of what matters most.

We had a line of families waiting for their opportunity to take their family photos. We are so grateful to all of the volunteers who helped and the International Rescue Committee for giving us the opportunity to serve.
