One of my favorite things about newborn photography is the opportunity to capture the relationships and family connections that matter most. Seeing the love that a family has for their precious new addition, how tender and gentle even the youngest of siblings is with a new baby, is truly special. Whether it is photos with siblings, parents, or grandparents, I encourage all family members to participate in a newborn photography session. Moms especially are reluctant sometimes to step in front of the camera. But how grateful your children and even grandchildren will be to have these special images preserved for generations.
Photographing this sweet family’s five children was such a joy. I was able to hand-deliver a large print of this sibling photo to their home in Colleyville and helped mom to pull their outdated photo down from above the fireplace replacing it with the new. As we stood back to admire our handiwork I watched mom’s reaction to this image of her children placed prominently in their family room where I imagine they gather often. The shimmer of emotion and joy in her eyes said it all.
This is why I work as hard as I do as a newborn photographer. Preserving these connections, our familial relationships matter more than anything. And helping display them in a way that allows you to feel that connection, that joy, on a daily basis.
My own home is full of photographs of my children and our family connections. My children often ask to pull out old albums to peruse together and inevitably to hear the stories that go along with those images. Some of my favorite images are printed beautifully and displayed in our home where I can view them often. These photographs bring me such happiness. How grateful I am to be able to provide these same feelings for my wonderful clients in the Dallas, Fort Worth area.
