The Benefits of Studio Maternity Sessions Over Outdoor Sessions
There is nothing quite like the beauty, form, and connection that is captured in a maternity photo. I love creating art for my clients and maternity sessions are no different. I want your images to reflect your uniqueness and the beautiful connection you share with your baby. As a fine art photographer, I love to offer my clients several different types of maternity sessions as well as endless options for gowns and how the images are styled. Today I want to share some of the benefits of in studio maternity sessions.
Studio maternity sessions have limitless possibilities for being creative. Not just in the backgrounds we use but in the way we use the light to create different looks. The above image uses a lighting technique called “paramount lighting”. This type of light is one of my favorites for maternity as it creates shadows in all the right places and is extremely flattering.
Backlighting is also beautiful. I love the way the light wraps around the subject. This is beautiful especially when I am photographing the relationships in your family during a studio maternity session.
I typically use this type of lighting with lighter colored gowns. I have over sixty maternity gowns for clients to choose from and even have a selection for little girls too!
Rim light and silhouettes are two more lighting scenarios I use to add diversity to your maternity gallery.
I love to capture movement in your images. I can achieve this using gowns with a lot of movement in their fabric or using a professional hair fan to add volume to your hair.
I offer a variety of gowns that can be photographed in many different ways to create a unique studio maternity session for every client.
I also have an array of props, fine art backdrops and unique furniture that I can incorporate into your one of a kind session.
Truly the options are endless when it comes to studio maternity sessions. To learn more or to schedule your complimentary design consultation please contact us here.
