I am thrilled to present the next three images in the Newborn Masterpiece Collection. The first image is very special to me. I have received so much support and encouragement since beginning this project from friends, fellow photographers, art enthusiasts from around the world and especially my family. No one is a bigger fan than my Dad. He has been a rock for me throughout my life and especially when things are tough. This image, the seventh in the series, is inspired by Claude Monet’s gorgeous impressionist painting titled “Wild Poppies, Near Argenteuil.” Poppies are my Dad’s favorite flower and will forever remind me of him. This one is for you Daddy.

The next image is inspired by Vincent van Gogh’s “Irises.” I first viewed this painting at the Getty Center in Los Angeles and have always been curious about the one white iris in van Gogh’s painting. I chose to highlight the individuality of my darling subject by incorporating her into my artwork as that single white iris. What an adorable little newborn!

The last image is the 9th in the series of 12 that I have planned. I had already completed one background inspired by Edgar Degas’ images of dancers. When a client told me she would love to have a similar image as she herself used to be a dancer I decided I would create one more background from Degas’ masterful series. My cute model even pointed her tiny toes for my image inspired by Degas’ “The Star.”

Since releasing the first images in the Newborn Masterpiece Collection exactly two months ago the reaction to the series has been phenomenal. I am humbled by the many kind messages I have received. Thank you all for your support and interest in my work. I am looking forward to completing the final three images in the series and seeing the images published.

I will be posting some fun images behind the scenes of creating the Newborn Masterpiece Collection soon. Stay tuned. If you are on Facebook you can follow my work at http://www.facebook.com/lindsaywaldenphotography/ and on Instagram at http://www.instagram.com/lindsaywaldenphotography/.

  1. I love the artistic vision you have with each newborn. The image is so much more than traditional newborn photgraphs. I love your art!
